I’ve seen better days

By Nishanth Peters

I’ve seen better days

Days full of wine drunk enthusiasm And shining light

I’ve seen worse days Days of darkness And intoxicating rage

But now

Everything in my life Is razor thin

I chuckle a bit inside

The Razor’s Edge That Sanskrit adage

Every step I take is a precarious jump From one pillar to another, One island to the next Hopping between dimensions

And I’m not sure where I will land.

Either way, I do hope I can find Solid ground Where the sun shines brightly And the days are filled With wine drunk enthusiasm.
